While in Ubud, it’s impossible to miss out the Monkey Forest. Okay, let’s say I’m not a big fan of monkeys, I don’t know why but they freak me out. But since it’s a must-do experience in Ubud, well, let’s go. I quickly understand why. The forest is a bloody enchanted forest! Giant trees, creepers falling from the sky, temples and statues… It’s hard not to fall in love with the place.
That’s why when Gina asked me to come with her to Bali, on her stopover to fly back to Germany, I cheerfully answered YES. I jumped with joy when I figured out that Selena will be coming as well: I’m going to be reunited with my Napier Girls!
In Alsace (France), we have a place called ‘la Montagne des Singes’ (‘Mountain of the Apes’). In Japan, they have the Jigokudani’s Monkey Park. And over there, monkeys are bathing themselves in natural hot springs. Like kings.
