LET’S TAKE A WALK WITH ME!

In 2015, after some professional and love disasters, I took the plunge.

I sold my stuff and left my loved ones behind.

I went to New Zealand for a year thanks to the Working Holiday Visa.

At 28 years old, it was time to live a more adventurous life, live the kind of life I was dreaming of for so long.

And on my way, I travelled to Japan, Bali and Singapore.

In 2017, some eight months after coming back to France, I’m about to put myself in a totally different adventure.:

I’m about to go to Taiwan for another year, again thanks to the Working Holiday Visa.

Except that I don’t speak Chinese.

Here, I’m writing about my adventures as a novice adventurer, my mistakes, but most of all I’m writing about my feeling and thoughts that comes while travelling.

My feelings about the world we’re living in.

Because the world is pretty big, and bloody beautiful.

SWEET AS.

WHY ‘TAKE A WALK ON THE WILDSIDE’?

Lou Reed’s famous song is not directly related to travel.

It talks about transsexuality, blowjob, drugs. About “borderline” personalities, coming from the Andy Warhol entourage, people who dare to be themselves, no matter what.

It was a risky business, releasing this song in the 70’s, yet it became the huge hit we know today.

“Candy came from out on the Island
In the back room she was everybody’s darling
But she never lost her head
Even when she was giving head
She says, “Hey, babe,
Take a walk on the wild side.”

A few years ago, I taped this line on my Strasbourg’s small studio’s wall, like a eulogy to freedom. It became a kind of motto.

HEY BABE. TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE.
